JAKARTA. Nippon Shokubai Indonesia, a petrochemical company that has been investing in Indonesia since 1996, is preparing IDR 1.69 trillion for factory expansion in Cilegon.
This news is disclosed by Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment/Head of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board. In the release issued yesterday (12/9), Roeslani said that the fund will be allocated to factory expansion and phase 4 construction.
“When I come by, the phase four [construction] has been started with total expansion value of IDR 1.69 trillion,” confirmed Roeslani.
For the record, Nippon Shokubai Indonesia started its commercial operation in 1999, with several expansion under its belt, namely in 2014 and 2023.
Nippon Shokubai Indonesia is currently the sole manufacturer of acrylic acid, acrylic esters, and superabsorbent polymer in Indonesia. (KR/ZH)
