JAKARTA -PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) partners with two regional state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to establish joint ventures designed to work on nickel mining development in Pongkeru Block, East Luwu, South Sulawesi.
In the press release quoted Tuesday (17/9), Nico Kanter, President Director of ANTM, mentioned that the joint venture is meant to optimise nickel potential in Pongkeru Block.
“This partnership becomes a vital step in managing nickel resources responsibly and sustainably with good mining practices. We hope that the collaboration of SOEs and regional SOEs may generate long-term added value to the national nickel industry,” Kanter said.
The consortium of joint ventures consists of PT Sulsel Citra Indonesia and PT Luwu Timur Gemilang. The legal reference for this Pongkeru block development is stated on Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No.T-304/MB.04/MEM.B/2024.
In this joint venture, ANTM will gain majority shareholder portion. However, the percentage has yet to be disclosed. (LK/ZH)
