Transactions selling foreign shares surges, net foreign volume drops to -987.60 million shares

JAKARTA - Foreign investors raised their stock selling activities on Tuesday, September 17, as shown by a foreign selling volume of approximately 5.45 billion shares. The sale of shares in the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) was one of the largest contributors to this increase, with foreign investors selling 3.55 billion GOTOshares for a net volume of -1.41 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign buying volume was 4.46 billion shares, bringing net foreign volume down to -987.60 million shares.

Furthermore, the telecommunications business PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) sold approximately 197.12 million shares without purchasing any additional shares, resulting in a net volume of -197.12 million shares. PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) shares, an e-commerce company, were then sold for 149.59 million shares, resulting in a net volume of -69.10 million shares. The transaction started with the purchase of 275.81 million shares of coal mining company PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) for a net volume of 212.49 million shares. Shares of its mineral mining subsidiary, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), were also purchased for 62.78 million shares, with a net volume of 45.72 million shares. Around 114.46 million shares of the banking corporation PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) were then purchased, with a net volume of 98.69 million shares. Furthermore, foreign investors purchased shares in two real estate development companies: 49.46 million shares of PT Intiland Development Tbk (DILD) with a net volume of 47.42 million shares and 39.90 million shares of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk (SMRA) with a net volume of 30.96 million shares.
