JAKARTA - On Monday, September 23, stock buying and selling activity generated significantly different foreign purchasing and selling volumes. The foreign buying volume was 4.16 billion shares, while the foreign selling volume was more than double that at 8.60 billion shares. As a result, net foreign volume closed at -4.43 billion shares. The first shares sold the most belonged to the telecommunications company PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN), which sold 4.47 billion shares with a net volume of -4.46 million shares.
Still in the billions range, almost 2 billion shares of the digital corporation PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) were sold, for a net volume of -413.79 million shares. Shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), which focuses on the coal mining sector, were sold for 479.79 million shares with a net volume of -185.84 million shares. Furthermore, foreign investors sold 56.39 million shares of the multimedia business PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) and 109.78 million shares of PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP). SCMA and BBKPs net volume from these two transactions was in the range of -40 million shares.
Meanwhile, 254.48 million shares of mineral mining business PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) were purchased, resulting in a net volume of 173.99 million shares. In the banking sector, 182.58 million shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) were purchased, for a net volume of 122.25 million shares. In addition, 104.99 million shares of the domestic and foreign shipping services company PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) were purchased, with a net volume of 92.24 million shares. The next shares purchased were those of the property development company PT Alam Sutera Realty Tbk (ASRI), totaling 89.81 million shares with a net volume of 82.87 million shares. At last, 70.02 million shares of renewable energy business PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) were purchased, with a net volume of 64.40 million shares. (KD)
