JAKARTA. PT Cahaya Anagata Energi (CAE), a joint venture (JV) established byPT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO)and Chevron New Energies Holdings Indonesia Ltd. (Chevron), is ready to explore Geothermal Work Area of Way Ratai, Lampung.
Last Tuesday (24/9), CAE has secured Geothermal License for Way Ratai Geothermal Work Area from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
“Considering the importance of investment in renewable energy sector, we condensed the licensing process in order to expedite and ensure that all the requirements needed for green energy resource exploration are fulfilled,” said Eniya Listianti Dewi, Director-General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of ESDM.
Julfi Hadi, Preisdent Director of PGEO, mentioned that the partnership with Chevron for this project is a part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance geothermal portfolio of PGE.
“We are committed to continue collaborate with strategic partners in order to ensure sustainable development of geothermal energy resource and generate major benefits for the public,” said Hadi.
Meanwhile, Wahyu Budiarto, President Director of CAE, claimed that the entire process of Way Ratai Geothermal Work Area development will be carried out with transparency and involving the stakeholders, including surrounding communities.
“We believe that geothermal energy development can provide great benefits for the public and the country,” added Budiarto. (KR/ZH)
