PTPP speeds up IKN Airport completion by the end of this year

JAKARTA -PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) is targeting the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Airport project to be completed at the end of this year. As of this week, the progress of runway construction has reached 2,200 m of total 3,000 m, equal to 73%.

Yul Ari Pramuraharjo, Director of Infrastructure Operation of PTPP, said that the runway of IKN Airport has been built spanning 2,200 m x 45 m.

“The progress of IKN Airport project will continue. With the utmost commitment, we believe we will be able to finish this project with the highest quality, in time, with zero accident, and complying with specified standars,” Pramuraharjo said in the press release quoted Friday (27/9).

Earlier this week (24/9), IKN Airport in East Kalimantan has been operated in order to facilitate the first ever landing of President Joko Widodo using Presidential Aircraft of RJ-85.

Currently, this airport can house three narrow-body aircrafts, or one narrow-body plane and 3 helicopters. In the future, this airport is projected to be able to house 7 narrow-body aircrafts (Boeing-737 or Airbus A320) and three wide-body planes, with total runway spanning 3,000 m x 60 m. (LK/ZH)
