Rebranding, PermataBank launches Permata ME

JAKARTA – After logo rebranding last September, PT Bank Permata Tbk (BNLI) or more widely known as PermataBank, launches a new and modern look in its mobile banking application, now called Permata ME. It is known that the previous PermataBank mobile app was called PermataMobile X.

“PermataMobile X was launched in 2018. So, this is an upgrade version, next level. Thus, we bring not only the new brand, but more convenient experience with more comprehensive features,” added Djumariah Tenteram, Consumer Banking Director of PermataBank, more familiarly known as Mariah.

Aligned with PermataBank’s aim to be a local bank with international network and regional vision, Permata ME highlights features that facilitate cross-border transactions, including FX buy/sell, money transfer in 13 foreign currencies, as well as cross-border QR payment. “We have a feature to facilitate QR payment in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand,” claimed Riga Sunkara, Division Head of Digital Channel of PermataBank.

“PermataBank always seeks feedback, all kinds of inputs from users, so they have improved experience. Therefore, we introduce this application to boost banking experience, in terms of mobile banking,” said Mariah when met at Press Conference of Permata ME Launch today (10/10).

In terms of security, this application has a biometric (fingerprint/face recognition) log-in system, as well as payment confirmation via mobile banking PIN.

“We also prove our commitment, in the latest Permata ME, to continuously work on security enhancement, so that the users find using Permata ME more convenient,” added Mariah.

It is worth mentioning that PermataBank’s logo rebranding, from three pieces of gemstones to lotus flower, is a step taken after Bangkok Bank officially serves as controlling shareholder of PermataBank, following the acquisition in May 2020.

As of September 2024, Bangkok Bank owned 89.12% of BNLI’s shares, leaving the remaining 10.88% to the public. (ZH)
