JAKARTA – Total users’ funds in People’s Economic Bank (lit. Bank Perekonomian Rakyat/BPR) until the first half (H1) of 2024 reportedly reached IDR 167.1 trillion, up 6.1% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 157.42 trillion seen in the same period in 2023. In terms of amount, savings under IDR 100 million dominated 98.22% of total accounts in BPR.
Based on Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (lit. Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan/LPS) data quoted today (14/10), total users’ savings in 2022 reached IDR 144.77 trillion, spread across 14.81 million accounts.
For comparison, in 2021, total funds were IDR 130.83 billion, recorded from 133.83 million accounts, both growing from IDR 116.05 trillion from 13.82 million bank accounts seen in 2021.
In H1 2024, the distribution of savings according to its amount showed that savings under IDR 100 million was recorded under 15.81 million BPR accounts, totalling IDR 46.62 trillion.
Savings worth IDR 100-200 million were split into 128,871 accounts with total savings worth IDR 18.81 trillion. Then, savings worth IDR 200- 500 million were spread across 105,539 accounts with total savings worth IDR 36.63 trillion.
Still according to its nominal value, savings over IDR 500 million-1 billion were recorded at IDR 27.52 trillion in 35,838 accounts. Then, savings of IDR 2-5 billion were split into 3,346 accounts with total savings worth IDR 9.98 trillion, and lastly, over IDR 5 billion savings totalled IDR 9 trillion, and stored in only 758 accounts.
