Fortune Indonesia to explore new sector outside core business

Fortune Indonesia Tbk (FORU) is currently exploring some new business opportunities outside its long-established core sector, media and printing.

Sari Dewi, Corporate Secretary of FORU, mentioned that there are 4 business sectors explored by the company, namely steel manufacturer, mining infrastructure service provider, heavy equipment and machine lease, as well as mining.

“The company recognises significant growth potential in these sectors, so they are expected to provide added value to shareholders of the company,” said Dewi in the information disclosure in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

However, Dewi said that as of now, there had been no agreement or commitment made by the company egarding the new business exploration.

“The company will always comply with applicable regulation, including issuing further disclosure once there had been material development,” added Dewi.

According to IDNFinancials data, FORU booked a loss of IDR 1.4 billion in the second quarter (Q2) of 2024, despite its 28.7% year-on-year (yoy) spike in its revenue to IDR 10.49 billion. (KR/ZH)
