Has the golden era of SIDO come to an end?

JAKARTA – The stock performance of PT Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO)reported gradual decline since December 6, 2019. Its ‘golden’ era occurred in March 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has yet to fully rebound.

Based on IDNFinancials data, Friday (6/12), SIDO’s stock price went up to IDR 855 per share before dropping to IDR 850 per share, unmoving from its opening position. Since yesterday (5/12), its price has only fluctuated at around IDR 850 from the beginning until the end of afternoon session.

Compared to December 8, 2023, in which SIDO was reported at IDR 540 per share, the price has actually increased by 7.40%. However, it still declined 24.18% from December 9, 2022, when the price was at IDR 765 per share.

SIDO’s price also slipped 66.66% from IDR 900 per share on December 10, 2021, down 25.44% from IDR 778 per share on December 4, 2020. It even declined 7.49% from IDR 627 per share on December 6, 2019.

This company, owned by generations of the Hidayats, peaked at IDR 1,040 on March 18, 2022. The COVID-19 crisis at that time did put SIDO at an advantage as people aims to mass-purchase herbal medicine products during the pandemic. (LK/ZH)
