RMKO to manage Gorby mining facility project worth IDR 61 billion

JAKARTA.PT Royaltama Mulia Kontraktorindo Tbk (RMKO) has resumed its partnership with PT Atlas Resources Tbk (ARII) to develop and operate the mining facility of PT Gorby Putra Utama (GPU).

The partnership will be carried out with the support of funding from PT Rantai Mulia Kencana (RMK), an affiliate of RMKO. The support given by RMK is in the form of financing worth IDR 25 billion to build Coal Crushing Plant (CCP) 2 with total capacity of 650 tons per hour (tph), along with supporting facility with GPU mining facility.

Prior to this, RMK had supported CCP1 development worth IDR 36 billion, thus bringing total funding by RMK for this project to IDR 61 billion.

It is worth mentioning that GPU is a subsidiary that manages coal mining in South Sumatra and is indirectly owned by ARII. ARII’s portion in GPU was recorded at 69.80% as of March 31, 2024.

“We believe that coal production of South Sumatra still has great potential to be optimised through a more integrated infrastructure development. With the experience we have in our primary operating area in Enim and the collaboration with RMK Group, we believe that we can optimise coal production of ARII’s mining,” said Vincent Saputra, President Director of RMKO.

For the record, RMKO, through RMK, also secures a contract to provide coal logistics services in GPU mining area. (KR/ZH)
