JAKARTA - On Wednesday, August 21, foreign investors sold the most shares of the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), totaling around 2.04 billion shares with a net volume of -886.48 million shares. This contributed to an increase in the foreign sales volume, which topped 3.71 billion shares. Meanwhile, foreign buying volume was only 3.14 billion shares, bringing net foreign volume down to -564.91 million shares.
Aside from GOTO, foreign investors also sold shares in two banking companies: PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP) and PT Bank MNC Internasional Tbk (BABP). 90.81 million BBKP shares were sold with a net volume of -49.34 million shares, while 44.43 million BABP shares were sold with a net volume of -16.08 million shares. Furthermore, PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) shares in the telecommunications sector were sold for 49.50 million shares, resulting in a net volume of -48.76 million shares. In the multimedia sector, shares of PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA) were sold for 45.40 million shares, with a net volume of -34.10 million shares.
On the top buy list, shares of two state-owned banking companies—PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI)—were then purchased. Foreign investors bought 259.09 million BBRIshares for a net volume of 145.72 million shares, followed by the acquisition of 80.11 million BMRIshares for a net volume of 40.25 million shares. In the coal mining industry, about 137.67 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) were purchased, with a net volume of 48.91 million shares. PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) shares, an energy resources infrastructure company, were then purchased for 62.48 million shares, for a net volume of 46.20 million shares. The last stock bought on this list was of the aerosol services firm PT Estee Gold Feet Tbk (EURO), which was purchased for 46.39 million shares with a net volume of 44.66 million shares. (KD)
