JAKARTA – Statistics Indonesia (lit. Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS) reported cumulative-to-cumulative economic growth in H1 2024 of 5.08% from the same period in 2023.
Based on the press release quoted today (6/8), Puji Agus Kurniawan, Director of Production Balance of BPS, mentioned that economic growth was seen across all industries.
Industries reported significant growth include government administration, defence, and mandatory social security of 10.25%, healthcare service and other social activities of 10.03%, food & beverage and accommodation provider of 9.79%, and manufacturing industry of 4.04%.
In the meantime, economic growth in Q2 2024 was seen growing 3.79% from Q1 2024. Prominent economic growth could be observed in agriculture, forestry, and fishery industry of 24.43%. In terms of expenditure, government consumption expenditure also increased 19.58% quarter-to-quarter (qtq).
Meanwhile, economic growth in Q2 2024 compared to Q2 2023 reportedly arrived at 5.05%. In terms of production, food & beverage and accommodation provider reported growth of 10.17%. In terms of expenditure, consumption of non-profit institutions for households increased 9.98%. (LK/ZH)
